You’re running for office but no one can reach you? Bold strategy.

If I had a dollar for every campaign website with no way to contact the candidate, I could fund a full mail program. Twice.

I get it. You’re running a campaign. You’re busy, tired, and probably behind on six other things. But if someone lands on your site and they’re a voter, a reporter, or a donor, and they can’t figure out how to reach you, you’ve got a problem.

This happens way more often than you'd think. Here's what that looks like, why it matters, and how to fix it fast.

What it says when there's no contact info

  • “Please admire my website, just don’t talk to me”

  • “I want your vote, but not your questions”

  • “This was built at midnight and no one double-checked anything”

People you might be unintentionally ghosting

  • Voters with questions about your platform

  • Donors who want to vet you before clicking "contribute"

  • Reporters who need a quote before their deadline

  • Local leaders who were about to endorse you but gave up

  • Volunteers who were ready to help but didn’t know how

Common stuff that's missing

  • No contact page

  • No email address listed anywhere

  • A volunteer form that doesn’t go anywhere

  • Broken social media links

  • Inboxes that aren’t checked by anyone

The five-minute fix

Add a contact form
Squarespace has a built-in form block. Add one to your contact or volunteer page, and test it to make sure the responses go somewhere real.

Put your email address in the footer
Even a basic contact@yourcampaign.com is fine. Just forward it to someone who’s paying attention.

Only link social media accounts you actually use
If you haven’t posted since you filed, don’t link it. If you post every day, great — make that link easy to find.

Create a short volunteer form
Just name, email, and one line about how they want to help. That’s it. No essays, no resumes.

Assign someone to check responses
If you’re too busy, ask a trusted volunteer to monitor the inbox. It doesn’t need to be fancy, just consistent.

Add an autoresponder
A quick “thanks, we got your message and someone will be in touch soon” goes a long way. It makes you look organized even if you're running on fumes.

Want a site that won’t ghost your voters?

Swayed templates are built for real campaigns, not just pretty portfolios. They come with working forms, built-in support, and step-by-step guides.

No code. No broken links. No wondering if your contact form works.
